I subleased my apartment from one undergraudate student this year.
He signed the contract with my leasing company, yet he decided to go back to Fort Wayne. He posted his ad on the facebook saying that he wanted to sublease it.
He will pay someone $115 every month for the 2007-2008 School yearif someone take the lease.
I signed the contract with him in August and he paid me the amount until Dec. At that time, I was consider graduating in this December and was not sure if I would stay. We had an agreement that if I want to stay, he will pay me the 115 aftewards. Then we went to the leasing office and I signed the contract wth the leasing office. I talked to my leasing office, and they said I would be the person responsible for the rent.
A couple of days ago, I wrote him back saying that I would still live in my apartment until July. He should fulfuill the rest of the money. Yet he said the amount he needes to pay is 115*4 ( to April , next year), which is not what he promised before. But I told him that he should pay me 7 months which is to the end of the lease.
I have some questions
1. He argues that the acdemic year ends in may. However, all the leases are one-year leases. When I signed the sublease with him, I assumed that it should be to July. We didn't talk about the exact date he should pay me.
